The road to scientific discovery is lined with failed experiments. Dr. Hunter Cole dedicates this artwork to all scientists who perservere despite numerous failed experiments in pursuit of scientific truth.

The clear segments of this artwork with black patterns are x-ray films detecting DNA, RNA and protein in molecular biology experiments. For various reasons these x-ray films were not useful to the scientists who donated them. These x-ray films have now found their purpose as a part of this artwork.

Thank you to all of the scientists who donated x-ray films for the creation of this artwork including Dr. Theresa Eisenbraun, Dr. Mike Farrell, Dr. Elsa Flores, Alex Felthauser and Marie Lockstein. Some of the x-ray films are from Dr. Cole's experiments.
