Solo Exhibition at ARC Gallery in Chicago in January 2018

Hunter Cole will have a solo exhibition of Living Light: Photographs by the Light of Bioluminescent Bacteria at the ARC Gallery in Chicago in January 2018 spanning art from 2005-2017.

The exhibition will include several series including Living Drawings, Bioluminescent Portraits and Installations, Bioluminescent Weddings, and Bioluminescent Nudes, each its own thematic grouping of images.

These are photographs of a drawing created with bioluminescent bacteria. When the drawing is at its brightest in "Rabbit: Stage 1," you see the rabbit on the right and a rooster on the left. When some of the bacteria has died as in the "Rabbit: Stage 2" drawing, the rabbit is still on the right, but the rooster on the left has turned into a wolf. On the lower left is the Japanese character for rabbit.
